This weekend workshop will be devoted to reading and writing poems together. We will consider the ways in which poetry locates us in the physical body, and whether it has use in repairing the fractures of difference in the troubled postmodern American society all around us, in which "facts" are too often mistaken for truths. Can our cynism and mistrust be apprehended and "treated" with the empathetic medium of poetry?
